Push as many coins as you can

Tipping Point Blast—also known as “Tipping Point Blast! - Lucky Coin Pusher”—is a free arcade mobile video game wherein you can test your coin-tipping skills. Developed by Two Way Media, this 3D game is just like those coin-filled arcade machines you see at amusement parks, family entertainment hubs, and casinos. This particular game is based on a TV game show called Tipping Point, so fans of it can easily try this game out.

What is Tipping Point Blast?

An arcade game is a coin-operated entertainment machine that offers different types of gameplay, such as video games and luck-based games. One such example is the coin pusher game, wherein you have to drop your coins into a growing pile to win back coins or other goodies. This game is especially difficult as it relies on the amount of money you’re willing to shell out to push the coins into the edge a bit further.

It can be a lucrative gambling game, though, and one TV show uses this for its gameplay mechanics.  Tipping Point is a British television quiz show wherein four contestants must answer general knowledge questions to win counters or coins—which they’ll use on a large coin pusher machine in order to push other counters to the “Win Zone.” There are various kinds of counters available, like double rewards and mystery prizes.

How do you play Blast on Tipping Point?

Based on the very same gameplay of the show, Tipping Point Blast has the same goals for players: push as many coins into the Win Zone as possible. You start the game with a simple tutorial. The main screen consists of a coin game interface—with the drop zone board on the upper half of the screen and the coin pile and Win Zone on the lower half. You must tap the Win Zone wherever to control where the coin will fall.

If you manage to tip over eight or more coins, you get a Big Tip bonus, which gives out more coins to use. You actually level up as you tip more coins over, and there are features that you can unlock the more you level up. For example, the Booster function at Lv. 2 lets you buy helpful items, such as walls that keep your coins from falling to the sides and ending up lost forever. Similar to the game show, there are also special counters for more rewards.

There’s no actual end to the game. You can keep winning coins, collecting more charms for more passive effects when the app is closed, and keep trying your luck in leveling up. You can even play the game offline. However, with regards to the game show’s popular mechanics, there’s actually not a lot to find here. You don’t often play the quizzes like in the show. Plus, to any regular player, the various coin types and collectibles aren’t explained well.

Not all that exciting

All in all, Tipping Point Blast is a fun game to play, but it can feel like any other coin pusher game. It can be addicting for a while since you technically don’t have to use any real money to play. However, there’s not much else going for it since it’s mostly about luck, and the game show’s quizzes don’t pop up often enough to break the monotony of dropping coins.

PROS

  • Easy tutorial
  • Passively regenerates coins for you to play with
  • Has various unlockable buffs
  • Can be played offline

CONS

  • Not a lot of skill involved
  • The quizzes don’t show up often
  • Not much of the mechanics are explained thoroughly
